Where in the World is Celtic Thunder?

Happy mischief/gate night! Welcome to the capital of New York, guys! In half an hour, Celtic Thunder will be gracing the Times Union Center with a bring-the-house-down show. Maybe there will be some pranks pulled?
The CTG who usually does this has a busy weekend, and won't update this until monday.

so..

Friday, as I said, the guys have off. Happy Halloween to all!
Saturday, they are at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ (my mom is going!!!)
And Sunday they will be at the Nassau Veterens Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY (random note: where I saw the Jonas Brothers once upon a time!)

Hope everyone has a safe Halloween!

And the winner is...

Thanks to the 41 people who voted on this poll. It may not seem like that much, but it is to two random girls who didn't expect more than 5!!
So, the results of "Favorite Damian McGinty song" are.... *unneeded drum roll*
Bird Without Wings comes in first place, Young Love comes second, Puppy Love third and Come by the Hills in last.
Thanks again to all who voted and be sure to vote on our new poll!

Where in the World is Celtic Thunder?

Tonight, our fab 5 can be found in Boston, MA at the Dunkin Donuts Center! Since she cannot think of anything to write about Boston, she will say that she went to Dunkin Donuts today and is reading the Crucible for school (which takes place IN Massachusetts). Vair, vair coincidental and unnecessary (:
If only she had gone to Boston Market....

I hate to say it, but the CTGs are at a loss for what to do for the next poll. We would love to hear any and all suggestions. Comment this post for a poll you would like to see on the CTG blog!
We have 30-something votes on our latest poll, so we expect at least one suggestion!
Thanks guys!

Fave Irish Munchies

This is completely random (ish), but one CTG used to live in Ireland and she wants to share the Irish junk food she loved there with the world.

#1 on her list is Taytos. Tayto is an Irish crisp (chip) company. They are credited for developing cheese & onion crisps (tied for first favorite flavor with salt & vinegar!)

#2 is Club Orange (or Club Rock Shandy, a lemon and orange mix). It's a soft drink with "real orange bits" in it! The slogan? "The bits inside make it come alive". Yum!

#3 is Mikado biscuits (cookies). It's a basic cookie with alternating white and pink marshmallows on top and jelly in the middle.

#4. Jaffa Cakes! A bit hard to explain. Its a round-ish cookie with chocolate on the top half. On the inside, there is this orange-flavored jelly thing. It's good!

#5. Lucozade: It's an energy/sports drink. Be careful, it's very addicting!

#6. Crunchie Bar (chocolate candy bar with honey comb on the indside!)

#7 Flake 99. Eat it plan or in a soft ice-cream cone, this flaky chocolate is amazing!

That's all for now, although there is so much more!!

Halloween Fun!

As you may know, Halloween originated in Ireland! Celtic Thunder has the day off! Anyway, the CTGs would love to know how you all celebrate Halloween!!

"On Halloween night in present-day Ireland, adults and children dress up as creatures from the underworld (e.g., ghosts, ghouls, zombies, witches and goblins), light bonfires, and enjoy spectacular fireworks displays – in particular, the city of Derry is home to the largest organized Halloween celebration on the island, in the form of a street carnival and fireworks display." (wikipedia.org)

See that, folks? Derry. That's where Keith and Damian are from (:

If anyone has any pics of cool celtic pumpkins they carved, or anything celtic and Halloween related, send them to celtic.thunder.girls@gmail.com! Don't forget to say whether you want them posted here or not!
Fun stories are also welcome!

Where in the World is Celtic Thunder?

Apologies for the lateness of everything! Stress galore for the CTGs :/ We'll get more interesting stuff as soon as we can!
Anyway, the concert is probably over, but CT was in Boston, MA at the Agganis Arena. Tomorrow, they get a day off as they travel to Albany, NY.

Hurry!!!

Our poll is almost closed!!! We have a lot more votes than last time, courtesy of the folks on the CT forums, but we'd like as many as possible!! Get out those CDs and listen for your favorite Damian solo song!!

Paul's Solo Albums!!

Are you a fan of Paul's creamy caramel voice? We sure are, which is why we were thrilled to learn that he has a Christmas album out!! It is entitled "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and can be found here: (It says on the site that it is out of stock, but more have been ordered and this will show up on the site soon). His voice is absolutely perfect for such beautiful seasonal tunes as "Silent Night" and "Let It Snow". We know we certainly want him crooning to us as we trim our trees in a month or two!

If you're not much of a Christmas person, however, you can also check out his solo album "Velvet", which can be bought here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/paulbyrom. Classic songs such as "Unforgettable" and "Cheek to Cheek" are given a new flavour by this talented lad.

He has samples of the songs on his MySpace, link down below.
So what are you waiting for? Go check them out!

Want to learn Gaelic?

Have you been inspired by listening to "Come By The Hills" a million times? Have you been dying to find out what the guys are saying in "Heartland"? Maybe you just have nothing better to do. Whether you want to learn basic, conversational, or be completely fluent, we have some ways for you to learn Gaelic!

First, decide which form you want to learn. If you have ancestors or relatives in Ireland, find out what county they are from. Here's a map with the counties separated by dialect.

If you don't feel like dialects, or you don't have relatives in Ireland, there is a site with basic phrases.

These are just some tips. If you want, you can go further into the world of the Gaelic language. I saw some great computer programs and audio CDs available to buy!

Slán agus beannacht leat.

That's Gaelic for "Goodbye and blessings on you."

Where in the World is Celtic Thunder

It's a happy day for Columbus, Ohio! The guys are performing at the Schottenstein Center! Did you know that German is the largest reported ancestory in Ohio? Sehr gut! Good to see so many backgrounds into Celtic Thunder!!

This vid is sure to warm your heart!!

Where in the World is Celtic Thunder?

Tonight, the Fab Five may be found in St. Louis, Missouri, at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. Yes, Celtic Thunder support can be found everywhere. Isn't that great? We wish them much luck and a beautiful show!

Google Group - Chat About the Lads!!!

All righty, here's the deal. Since this is a blog, and not really a chat forum, it's pretty difficult to talk about Celtic Thunder with other fans as much as we'd like. But good news! We've just discovered something magical called Google Groups. We've created one and if you comment and leave your email (no scams, we swear on our obsession!!), we'll invite you to this group and you can become a member. There are different chat boards about each member, and more will be added upon request. Lyrics will eventually be posted in the "Files" section. Basically, it will be a fan forum!! It'll be lots of fun, so please comment with your email and we can get started!!

Deliciosity

Oh my goodness. Don't you want one of those jerseys? We sure do. They should totally auction them off to crazed fans such as the CTGs :D We'd pay as much as possible for one. The lads definitely love their soccer (oh all right, football); we're sure they were thrilled when they received these honorary jerseys. Don't you think they'd smell nice? Especially Keith's. It would probably smell of the loads of shampoo he has to use :) Yummmm........

...

George's wouldn't smell of shampoo at all *tear*

Where in the World is Celtic Thunder?

After what I'm sure was a fantastic show in Illinois, Celtic Thunder has Thursday, October 16th off. They have no scheduled performances. I'm sure they will be catching up on some must-needed sleep. Damian will most likely be working with his tutor. And they will be on the tour bus heading towards their next destination, which shall be revealed on October 17!

Paul Byrom Wednesday - Explanation

Ok, so you might all be wondering, 'What in the world is Paul Byrom Wednesday?"

WELL!!

On the Celtic Thunder forums (can be found at http://www.celticthunder.ie/phpbb/index.php), the people on the chat boards assigned each lad one day of the week!

-Ryan Kelly Monday
-Keith Harkin Tuesday
-Paul Byrom Wednesday
-George Donaldson Wednesday
-Damian McGinty Friday

How do you celebrate these days, you might ask? Some ways would be to listen to that lad's songs a little more that day, chat about him on a message board or on this blog, or set your AIM status to a quote from one of their songs (a CTG favorite!) If you've got other ideas, please share them! Fellow fans will be grateful. Have fun!

P.S. - These days repeat every week, so you have a new chance every seven days to think up some crazy way to honor your favorite lad!

Where in the World is Celtic Thunder?

This is the first in a series of posts dedicated to locating the lads every day! Due to their intense tour, they are pretty much in a new place every night. Today they are performing at the Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, IL. Feel your heart skip a beat, Illinoians? Celtic Thunder is near :D Hopefully, you have tickets to see them. If not, just curl up with the DVD and some junk food and enter a world of bliss :)

Welcome to the Pleasure Dome!

You have come upon an epic new blog that we like to call Celtic Thunder Girls. You do not have to be female to explore the posts that will eventually be posted here, nor must you be a diehard fan (although it is most appreciated).
This blog was created to spread to word to fellow teen girls. The Celtic Thunder Official Website (http://www.celticthunder.ie/) has strict moderators who don't appreciate stalking. So, we figure we are safe to rave and rant aimlessly here.
Enjoy!
But please do take the guys' privacy seriously. Don't get too personal! They give us beautiful music; Show them respect!
